My Top Five Favorite Beauty Products!

IMG_1213.jpgI think we can all agree when I say every gal loves a good beauty product- whether that be makeup, a skincare item, hair product or anything in between.

Today I am going to share with you my personal top five favourite beauty products of all time. Some of these have been my essentials for years, whereas others have only been with me for a few months. Regardless, these are my five go-to, must-have products I would recommend to any girl (or guy) out there! (Please keep in mind I am no beauty expert in any way, nor am I saying these products are the VERY best out there).

Bonus: all these products happen to be available at the drugstore!

1)Aveeno Positively Radiant – Daily Moisturizer (SPF 15)

Available for purchase at: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Aveeno-Positively-Radiant-Daily-Moisturizer-With-Sunscreen-Broad-Spectrum-Spf-15-4-Oz/10801427

This is a moisturizer I had been eyeing in the drugstore for months before I finally bought it. I’m not completely sure why I had wanted it, to be honest. (Probably heard about it through some beauty guru, expert, or another). Every time I went to the drugstore or Walmart I would consider buying it, but the price tag ($20 CAD!!) was much more than I was willing to pay. However, I eventually decided to splurge one day, and boy am I happy I did!! Bare in mind, I have very normal skin and am not prone to acne, so this may not work for everyone. It keeps my skin moisturized but not not one bit oily all day long! I love the fact that it has SPF so I don’t have to mess around with putting sunscreen on top of my moisturizer everyday. (Although, I would recommend putting a higher SPF on on top during the summer months, or all year round if you live in a hotter climate).

2) Simple – Cleansing Micellar Water

Available for purchase at: http://www.simpleskincare.ca/en/our-products/product/cleansing-micellar-water.html

I’ve been loving this product for a while (as you can tell by the empty bottle). If you haven’t been using micellar water (basically a makeup remover/face cleanser with a water base, containing no alcohol or oils) you are seriously missing out!! My personal favourite is definitely the simple brand. After finishing this bottle, I decided to try the popular Garnier micellar water and I’ve got to say I don’t like it quite as much as the Simple brand one, which I find has a more water-like formula. Although I will be finishing my Garnier bottle (nothing necessarily wrong with it, I just like the Simple brand one a bit more), I will most definitely be going back to this brand micellar water after.

3) Batiste Dry Shampoo

If you have yet to jump on the dry shampoo bandwagon, what are you doing?! Okay, maybe you actually have the time and patience to wash your hair everyday, or just simply have magical hair that somehow doesn’t get oily, but still. Dry shampoo has been a staple in my life for several years now (I would really love a count on how many bottles I’ve gone through because trust me, it’s been a lot!!) I definitely don’t replace washing my hair with using dry shampoo, but I like to minimize washing my hair to every second day. On those second hair days where my hair is starting to get oily, dry shampoo is my savior. The Batiste brand has been my go-to as it is the only dry shampoo I have found that really works, so of course I have stuck with it 🙂

4) Maybelline – Lash Sensational Curvitude Waterproof Mascara

Available for purchase at: https://www.maybelline.com/eye-makeup/mascara/lash-sensational-curvitude-waterproof-mascara

I have been using Maybelline’s Lash Sensational line for many years now (I seriously can’t even remember the last time that I bought a different brand mascara). Recently, I’ve discovered their Curvitude mascara and couldn’t be more satisfied. As a girl who struggles with super straight eyelashes, this mascara has done wonders for me. I loved the original and the Luscious Lash Sensational mascaras, but this one turned out to be the perfect match for my straight eyelashes. It’s safe to say, I won’t be switching mascaras for a long time. P.S. The waterproof formula is a bonus to better help hold the curve in your eyelashes!

5. Moist – Hemp Body Moisturizer

The effectiveness of this product actually came as a surprise for me. I had never tried any sort of hemp product until I tried this moisturizer. It had originally been my sister’s moisturizer, but when she moved away for college it got left in the bathroom at our parent’s home. I was still living at home at the time, so when I got out of the shower one day to be left with super dry, itchy, and irritated legs (as I often do after shaving), this moisturizer was right there ready to rescue me. I decided to give it a try, as it was the only moisturizer that was around and boy, were my legs irritated!! As soon as I started to rub it in I felt instant relief. Like literally, I’m not even exaggerating. My legs went from super dry to nice and moisturized in an instant. I had never felt this kind of relief for my post-shave irritated legs before as I did with this moisturizer. It’s safe to say I stole the bottle from my sister and haven’t stopped using it since.
